Cycle Thief Leaves Behind Brutal Message After Stealing
With the calls to go green enveloping the world, the number of bike riders has been surging around the world. But the reviving cycling trend has also opened up another domain for thieves to try their hands on. Thus, the bicycle stealing is seeing an uptrend in the countries supporting and promoting cycling. Recently the land of Smithfield in Dublin witnessed one of the notorious activities but in a hilarious way.
The passerby in Smithfield (Dublin) noticed a white sheet flowing down the railing to disseminate a bone tickling message. The orange words on the sheet made them give huge shrieks of laughter. The note stood there to bring a bicycle stealing spree out of the covers.
The note writer claimed to steal the ‘grey’ bike back as it belonged to him. Not just that, the witty person finished the note by teasing the person who had locked it there.
The passerby captured the note and shared it on the social media platforms. It raged and garnered popularity in the Twitter and Reddit world.
One can see the handmade note saying, “If you looking for the grey bike – I stole it back – it was mine. Photos and serial number to prove! So long sucker! Ha ha loser!”
Some of the social media users could not help but lauded the way of reclaiming one’s bike back. They appreciated the urge to do that to take the matters back in one’s hand. They found the ‘tit for tat’ treatment apt and deserving to the bike thief.
Sharing the delight, one of them posted the picture and commented, “Good morning to this sign in Smithfield and this sign only!”
Another joined the chorus and said, “Nice one!”
One soul cherished it to the full and replied, “The sweet taste of justice”.
But there came up many souls who felt it faulty. There was no clarity whether the person who had locked the bike there was the real thief or not. There were also the chances that the person might have bought the bike from the thief. The person might have no idea of having bought a stolen bike.
Thus, they found it unfair on the part of the person to steal the bike back.
Cementing the case against the act, one of them turned up to say, “I was gutted when my bike was stolen but I don’t know if I’d do this. Pretty sure bike robbers don’t lock up the bikes they steal, they sell them on. Maybe I WOULD, but wouldn’t put the ‘ha ha’. I think we are just endlessly recycling stolen bikes!”
Another joined in and commented, “What if the person genuinely thought they were buying a bike from the owner? Now they’re left feeling the same. Should’ve waited till they came back for it”.
Thus, the act won a mixed bag of response from the social media world. There developed fertile grounds to tilt the matter to both sides and rage a debate between the souls responding to the episode.
No matter what the case was, the Dublin people cherished the bicycle-note day!
