Your Such Backhanded Compliments Can Roast You Brutally
Brittany Lauren wanted to give a try to the modern technological love and got on a dating app to meet a man. We have learned our lessons after a few dates and this smart woman didn’t have to wait much to realize that the whole dating game is not what she had imagined. It is in fact, worse than what she had thought.
Once she started sharing her story, many women came in, to share their ridiculous experiences. She had chosen Hinge for her maiden experience and that is where she matched with Rob. She had to open up the chat with a backhanded compliment in it. She was not new to such compliments as it happened ‘pretty often’ with her.
She knew what was he attempting to do and then decided to give him the taste of his own medicine. The backhanded compliment read, “Damn you are stunning but I’m afraid you’d spend more time drinking/parting/on Insta than in a relationship lol.”
Brittany knew that it was a tactic that is called Negging. When a person gives you a backhanded compliment to make you feel that you need validation, that’s the thing we are talking about. She knew how to deal with such compliments and rather than questioning him back, she agreed to him and replied, “Lol who says you can’t judge someone based off a couple pics haha.”
The guy then regretted his not so innovative line because he knew his tactic had failed miserably.
It was Brittany’s turn to take this further. She wrote, “I’m pegging you as someone who is extremely insecure. In relationships you probably have extreme jealousy issues and are controlling. The girls you date probably aren’t allowed to go out and have fun because ‘girls night’ are just excuses for them to cheat on you.”
She didn’t stop there. She continued, “You’ve been burned by someone in the past and now use that as a reason to attempt to gaslight every potential partner that you might have – because women are all evil and terrible and you’re just a ‘nice guy’. Also, your profile says 5’9” but I’m willing to bet money that you’re 5’7” in heels. How’d I do, Rob?”

Now Brittany believes that the old school way is the best to find the man of her dreams. She posted the screenshot of the chat and posted it on her Facebook timeline. Other women had a Rob in their lives as well.
A woman appreciated her by commenting, “C’mon Rob! How’d she do? Rob? ROB?? Oh dear god… Oh he definitely dead.”
Another one said, “So you can’t drink, party or be on Insta AND be in a relationship with Rob at the same time?”
