Woman Leaves Job As A Funeral Director To Become A Professional Mermaid
This is the story of a lady who quit her job as a funeral director to turn into a professional mermaid. Yes, you heard that correct, that is apparently an actual job. It may seem odd and unusual; in fact, it was equally weird for Jasmine Seales, a 28-year-old woman from Basingstoke. A few months back she happened to visit the Isle of Wight Festival where she saw a mermaid do her thing and that is when she decided to ditch her current career to lead a life under the waters. You have to admit this might be strange, but definitely quite uplifting.
According to Jasmine, her current job was a big downer and she would often end up crying because she would have to tackle and go through the process of a funeral service, right from the start to the end. Funerals are sad but imagine them being a part of someone’s everyday routine. So her visit to the fest was her motivation to wrap up and join the clan of Ariel. Of course, this 180-degree turn wasn’t an easy task. She had to go through long hours of training at one go. This is where she learned the skill of holding her breath underwater for almost 2 minutes and 35 seconds.

She shared her photos where one can see her wearing her costume, a full dragon-scaled tail made from platinum silicone! Also if you wish you could hire her for fests, birthday parties basically by anyone who can afford $120 an hour along with a pool, because that isn’t included in the package. Jasmine who suffers from fibromyalgia said that “There was a girl there doing displays and it just looked really interesting. I got speaking to her and I thought ‘why not give it a go?’ It has been a life-changing decision.”
No doubt her job is difficult but equally rewarding too, after all, she gets to have glamorous photoshoots, and be on billboards and covers. In fact, she is so motivated to carry on with the job that she says she’ll continue until the job leaves her paralyzed or something. As of now she only requires her skill brush up once a week, rest she’s all good. As per the beautiful mermaid, who has recently competed in the Miss Mermaid UK Pageant said that being in water that way felt odd, but eventually it gets good and better.

By the way, did you know that this profession is gaining momentum as a sport in the United Kingdom as well as the United States of America? It seems like fairytales are finally coming true!
