Wife Wrote Funny Obituary For Her ‘Dead Sexy’ Husband

Crystal Sauser’s husband died after a long and brave two-year battle with cancer. And she was devastated because of it. But she had to get control of her emotions because she was just not a wife but is a mother of three as well. So, she channeled her grief into a funny and touching obituary to honor her late partner.

Her tribute to her late husband is going viral. The tribute will make you laugh and cry at the same time. The obituary began like “Eric A. Sauser, AKA Super Dad, Aka Easy, just rocking dude from Omaha, NE passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, February 26, 2021, at the age of 43 with his wife by his side.” And this is enough to make one cry.

But with the heart-touching part came the funny part as well. She continued “His departure was just in time for him to make his spiritual appearance at every Red Sox spring game.” Then she moved to her children and his late husband’s relationship with the children. She continued “Eric is survived by his wife, Crystal, and three children, Amelia, Violet and Benjamin all of whom will likely sleep in the same bed for many years to come (sorry, Eric).”

She even shared a picture of all of them before they knew that Eric had leukemia. The picture dated back to 2017. She described her husband with many interesting adjectives such as a man with “many, many friends” who loved “in this order, his smoking hot wife, his brilliant kids and family, his many friends, the Boston Red Sox, the Kansas City Chiefs (before being a Chiefs fan was cool), the Huskers, Liverpool Football, QT iced tea, Adidas sneakers, fishing, backpacking, hiking, hunting, and any old Chevy he saw on the road.”

To further lighten the mood and even her own she joked that she still doesn’t know the cause of her death. She joked that it was either leukemia or likely being ‘dead sexy.’ She further wrote: “Eric, we’ve always loved you and miss you already.” This cheeky, sweet, heart touching grabbed the attention of many.

It was circulated on social media and she commented that her husband would have been very glad if he knew that he is continuing to give joy to people. Local Omaha World-Herald reporter Bob Glissman also tweeted the obituary and wrote: “When I recommend stuff, I usually highlight stories written by @OWHnews reporters. But this obituary deserves a read. Godspeed, Eric”

In a conversation with Good Morning America Crystal shared that “I’m sad because I have a broken heart, but I’m not sad because we didn’t win our journey. Eric never wanted pity … we kind of maintained that in writing the obituary.” She also shared that they were shocked when they found about leukemia but her husband handled and fought against the diagnosis very gracefully.

The family even celebrated for Eric to celebrate his amazing journey. The obituary ended with “Following the service, the family requests jamming out to Ozzy Osbourne and raising a cold beer (preferably Busch Light) in celebration of Eric’s life.”
