National Park Officials Pack The Trash Left By The Campers And Mail It Back To Them

We all know that the bins are installed around the city and all the places for our convenience. The wrappers, cans, and packets need to be disposed of in those trash cans present on the corners of the roads while we are outside.

If we don’t find a bin nearby, we know we can’t just throw it away on the road. That’s littering and it is frowned upon! From little kids to adults, everyone is aware of the impact of littering on our environment and wildlife.

It seems like some still need education in this field as they won’t stop throwing away their trash everywhere but in the bins.

The officials at Khao Yai National Park in central Thailand observed that people have been littering quite a lot. So, they decided to give them a taste of their own medicine! The park officials have been returning the trash to the owners by packing it up and sending it in their mail.

People who camped in the park overnight left but forgot quite a lot of garbage in the tent. It didn’t take long for the officials to track down these litterbugs and hand them what’s theirs to keep.

In Thailand, the rules regarding littering are quite stern. They have completely prohibited the use of plastic bags. Moreover, leaving trash in a park may lead to up to five years in prison. Also, they need to pay a $16,000 fine.

Looks like, people won’t take that seriously and the authorities had to turn to a fresh idea to make them realize their mistake. They got off easy!

Varawut Silpa-archa, Thailand’s environment minister expressed his thoughts regarding this serious issue. He said, “I will pick up every single piece of your trash, pack them well in a box and mail it to your home as a souvenir.”

The officials even banned the campers from spending a night in the beautiful park. They received their trash with a note that read, “You have forgotten some of your belongings at the Khao Yai National Park. Please let us return these to you.”

Mr. Varawut shared a message for the ones who wish to visit the park to enjoy the waterfalls and monsoon forest. He wrote, “You may take only two things from our parks. Those are memories and photos. Leave only footprints behind.”

All the countries are taking this matter as a serious concern and making their rules stricter. Let’s be responsible citizens and let our nature breathe openly instead of burying it under trash and litter.
