Dad Presents His Son With A Witty But Familiar Birthday Card That He Had Kept For 28 Years

Not too long ago, birthday cards carried a special message for our loved ones. Gradually, amidst the gifts, extravagant cakes, and decorations, they lost their essence.
Now, the focus remains on the presents and other elaborate surprises while birthday cards are pushed aside and forgotten. But the ones who are old enough to know the significance of those cards have probably collected a few to remind them of the good old days.
One dad had a bunch of cards from his 42nd birthday. While going through that collection, he came across one that was given to him by his son, Rob Witt. He saw the card at a perfect time and knew what he wanted to do with it.
Rob’s dad had kept the birthday cards in a box for 28 years and now, he had discovered the one that could be used for an amazing plan.
It was Rob Witt’s 42nd birthday and his dad used his skills of sarcasm to present him with the same card but with a twist of his own!
14-year-old Rob had given this card to his father when he turned 42 and it read, “Hey, EVERYBODY! He’s 42! Of course… we won’t draw attention to it will we? Happy 42nd birthday dad, from Robbie.”
28 years later, now, when Rob was turning 42, the same card was handed over to him. It read, “I guess if you wait long enough, what goes around comes around!”
Rob posted the entire witty thought on Twitter and it amused people to the extent that his post went viral. “Fair play to my dad sending me the sarky card I made for his 42nd birthday, astonishing commitment to karmic justice,” he wrote in the caption.
“OK, full disclosure: I just got off the phone with my mum, and the card was in a box in the loft that they happened to open recently. My dad has *not* been planning this for years! However he is, as many people have observed, a great dad,” he later mentioned.
People retweeted it thousands of times and it received more than 67,000 likes. It was a hysterical story and everyone had a good laugh after reading it.
One commented, “Can you imagine him quietly sniggering to himself every now and again, FOR DECADES, in anticipation of what he was going to do?”
Another person revealed all that they gifted their dad on his 50th birthday including wigs, a walking stick, and all weird stuff. “I’m 48 now and getting more and more nervous…,” they added.
“This is primo dadding,” one person replied.
